Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 11, 2026

Summary

This Privacy Policy applies to the Gym Log app and website. Gym Log does not require a Gym Log account, and workout data is not stored in a cloud service operated by the developer. Workout data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud Sync and Backup, Gym Log transfers the data required for that feature to Apple's iCloud service under your Apple Account.

Workout data is NOT USED for analytics, advertising, data mining, or marketing. Information is received directly by the developer only when you choose to contact support or provide feedback.

What Data Is Stored Or Collected?

Gym Log stores the information you choose to enter, including workout plans, completed training, exercises, set results, notes, measurements, and related app settings. This information is stored locally on your device unless you enable iCloud Sync and Backup.

If you enable iCloud Sync and Backup, the app transfers the data needed to provide that feature to Apple's iCloud service under your Apple Account. Workout data is not stored in a cloud service operated by the developer.

If you send an email, the following data may be collected:

  • your email address;
  • the content of your email.

The content of the email is your responsibility. You are advised not to include personal or sensitive information unless it is necessary for your message.

How App Data Is Used

Workout and app data is used only to provide features you request, including:

  • planning, recording, and reviewing training;
  • calculating progress and analytics inside the app;
  • synchronizing data and creating or restoring backups through iCloud when you enable iCloud Sync and Backup.

Gym Log does not use workout data for advertising, marketing, user profiling, or behavioural analytics.

How Email Data Is Used

Emails are used only to:

  • read and understand your message;
  • reply to your message if a response is appropriate.

Your information will be deleted upon request, or three months after the conversation becomes inactive, whichever comes first.

How Email Data Is Stored

Email communication is stored in iCloud email, protected with encryption and two-factor authentication. Email communication may also be stored locally on an encrypted device protected by strong authentication measures.

Email communication is retained only as long as necessary to read and respond to your message. If there has been no activity for three months, the email communication will be deleted.

Website Hosting

The Gym Log website is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information, such as an IP address and browser details, as necessary to deliver and protect the website. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect aggregate page-view while preserving visitors' privacy.

GitHub's handling of this technical information is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

App Data And Apple Services

Gym Log uses local Core Data storage on your device. iCloud Sync and Backup is a single optional feature that uses the Apple Account and iCloud service configured on your device; it does not create a Gym Log account. The feature is recommended during onboarding as a data-protection measure because it helps reduce the risk of losing workout data. Availability depends on your iCloud account, network connection, device settings, and available iCloud storage.

When enabled, synchronization and backup are both active and are not configured separately. Gym Log uses iCloud to keep the working copy of your data up to date and maintain backups intended for recovery. Depending on your iPhone and iCloud settings, local app data may also be included in device backups managed by Apple.

Data stored through iCloud is processed by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy practices. You can learn more in Apple's Privacy Policy.

During TestFlight beta testing, Apple may provide app-level beta information such as public link metrics, tester feedback, screenshots, and crash reports through App Store Connect. That information is handled through Apple's TestFlight and App Store Connect systems.

Marketing

Your personal data is not used for marketing purposes. You will not receive marketing materials unless you explicitly request them.

Your Data Protection Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • the right to access;
  • the right to rectification;
  • the right to erasure;
  • the right to restrict processing;
  • the right to object to processing;
  • the right to data portability.

Workout data stored locally or through iCloud Sync and Backup can be managed using Gym Log's data controls and your Apple device or iCloud settings. Deleting the app removes its local data but may not automatically remove data stored in iCloud.

For email correspondence, you can request deletion by replying to the conversation and asking for it to stop and be deleted. You can also contact contact@gymlog.info with privacy questions or for guidance about managing Gym Log data.
